$14 into $17.50 on a bad turn card is a bit much. If villain isn't a total dumbass, I think it's safe to bet more like $10 and fold to a shove/substantial raise as 99, TJs, and the flush all make sense. If he's capable of doing this with AK or AQ with or without the club, it's definitely a call.
So the question is, does villain often limp/call AK and AQ utg? If not, I think you have a good idea of where you're at once he shoves turn. |

imo raising a utg call with kq is a bad idea. You will almost always be isolating yourself against a better hand (which in fact you did).
Otherwise, I'd make the flop bet stronger because villan has really good implied odds against you (you being big stack). Since you are showing strength, if he hits the flush, he can probably stack up. Not really sure what I'd do after the flush card came, it would depend on the game and player I suppose. |
