LC thread plz.
Oh, and his call is correct, as you have 67s there like 95% of the time. You just happened to be lucky enough to do this the one time in 20 that you didn't. |

Re: $80 HUSNG - Your Daily Reminder that Vilains Don\'t Like to Be Bluf
bluff :
–adjective 1. good-naturedly direct, blunt, or frank; heartily outspoken: a big, bluff, generous man. 2. presenting a bold and nearly perpendicular front, as a coastline: a bluff, precipitous headland. 3. Nautical. (of the bow of a vessel) having a full, blunt form. –noun 4. a cliff, headland, or hill with a broad, steep face. 5. North Dakota, Wisconsin, and the Canadian Prairie Provinces. a clump or grove of trees on a prairie or other generally treeless area. WTF does does this have to do with poker? Re: $80 HUSNG - Your Daily Reminder that Vilains Don\'t Like to Be Bluf
DaveT, are you saying there isn't anything worthwhile in a examining a hand where someone calls off nearly 70% of a full stack with no pair or draw and Jack high?
The reason I posted this is this type of situation is making me re-examine the value in bluffing in any spots. IE, going back through HH's and identifying any spot where I *think* I successfully bluffed and picked up a pot (ie, taking a stab with 4 high) vs the times I bluffed and got picked off. My feeling is it's probably worth it to just save your bluffing chips and use them to make slightly looser calls. |

I was just continuing a joke that already was started. If you would have posted your last post as the OP, we would not have picked on it.
[ QUOTE ] My feeling is it's probably worth it to just save your bluffing chips and use them to make slightly looser calls. [/ QUOTE ] So you are saying to stop using one weapon so that you can use another? Why can't you use both? To illustrate, the game I just played: The very first hand: Full Tilt Poker, $11 + $0.50 NL Hold'em Sit n' Go, 15/30 Blinds, 2 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (SB): 1,515 BB: 1,485 Pre-Flop: (45) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB) Hero raises to 90, BB calls 60 Flop: (180) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets 90, BB calls 90 Turn: (360) 8 (2 Players) BB checks, Hero checks River: (360) J (2 Players) BB bets 270, Hero calls 270 Results: 900 Pot Hero showed 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (a pair of Eights) and WON 900 (+450 NET) BB showed 6 3 (King Jack high) and LOST (-450 NET) After this, I hit only one flop, until I this hand, that occurred at the 30/60 level. This would not have been possible without running a constant bluff. Full Tilt Poker, $11 + $0.50 NL Hold'em Sit n' Go, 30/60 Blinds, 2 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (SB): 1,530 BB: 1,470 Pre-Flop: (90) J Q dealt to Hero (SB) Hero raises to 120, BB calls 60 Flop: (240) 9 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A (2 Players) BB checks, Hero checks Turn: (240) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB bets 240, Hero raises to 1,410 and is All-In, BB calls 1,110 and is All-In River: (2,940) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 is All-In) Results: 2,940 Pot Hero showed J Q (a pair of Queens) and WON 2,940 (+1,470 NET) BB showed 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (a pair of Nines) and LOST (-1,470 NET) |
