First shot at 2/4nl
I just took a shot at 2/4 and I find the difference between 1/2 and 2/4 is huge. I didn't feel much difference between 50NL, 100NL and 200NL but the game I played in 400NL was insane.
In 1/2 a lot of players play a nitty poker of 18/14 but most of the players I've meet in 2/4 were 25/22 with a high aggression factor. I eventually made a losing session so id like to know what do you think about 2/4 and what's the adjustement to make to beat thoses games ? |

Re: First shot at 2/4nl
Interesting post...
I usually play at 1/2, but have played 2/4 for a while. I am limited by my bankroll as much as anything as by the time I have enough to play 2/4 properly I need to cash out to pay for real life stuff. I found the very opposite of your initial perceptions. There were nits everywhere. When I moved up I played tighter than usual just to get a feel for the games (I usually multitable full ring) but soon loosened up as the players there were just so tight compared to any limits I had played before. I agree that there is a far bigger difference between 1/2 and 2/4 compared to say 0.5/1 and 1/2, but in my limited experience the games get tighter (on ipoker and ongame networks) |

Re: First shot at 2/4nl
More aggression so you have to pick your spots and get rid of crap cards like king queen that are easily dominated. But there are fewer calling stations so large bluffs work better in 2/4 IMO.

Re: First shot at 2/4nl
I forgot to say that I'm playing 6max, maybe that's why u get the opposite of my feeling... People get to be more TAG on full ring and more LAG on 6max ?

[/ QUOTE ] following this advice would be a great way to lose your BR ASAP lol. just focus on hand-reading and value-betting thinner than you did at 1/2 and you should be fine. |

Re: First shot at 2/4nl
Whatch you talking about Willis. My statement regarding larger bluffs was meant to be, well situated bluffs work better against better players than the calling stations at 1/2 as they see more of the possibilities than the meatballs playing pocket jacks to the end. Didn't mean to imply bluff more frequent as the players at 2/4 will get a read on your play vs. playing hole cards very quickly, most anyway.
