checking the flop is good if you wish to create or already have cultivated a weak tight image, and wish to maximize value playing this way. (which is viable and good at some tables)
otherwise, i think you will never get action on ur big hands by betting if you play good made hands like top pair this way, because the table views ur bets as so polarized as weak or strong when u play a good made hand like this. If this line isnt villain specific, then i think its terrible as a default as it polarizes our betting range and leads to small controlled pots and no action. not to mention missed value and protection, etc. |
