Btw, if you like to drink and have fun, DO NOT go to Norway/Sweden. Pretty hard to buy booze, and the prices are sick. [/ QUOTE ] Ahh, but the people who DO go out are going to appreciate it even more! |

Re: ***SSNL LIFE THREAD NOV***
It is expensive, but it is certainly not hard to buy booze. Just head to The System pick up your items and purchase.
Renting a place is quite reasonable really when I compare it to the 10 people stuffed into a 4 bed room style living I was doing in Boulder, Colorado. Price wise Iceland > Norway > Denmark > Sweden > Finland, and the capital cities fall in line with that as well. Overall, don't believe the horror stories about prices. Oslo and Sthlm prices are roughly the same as New York, somethings are cheaper (rent), and some things are more expensive (food). Oh yeah, no taxes on poker monies earned within the EU. |

Re: ***SSNL LIFE THREAD NOV***
You seem to be quite misinformed on this, sorry about that. But just so you are aware, you can buy all the normal beer you like at systembolaget. In fact you can ask them to order in almost any beer in the world (I have done this once with Fat Tire, a Colorado beer). There is a monopoly on alcohol sales in Sweden, do not confuse that with not being able to buy the stuff - it is readily available.

I don't live there, but got some family and friends there. What does a standard beer cost in norway/sweden? What does it cost in bars? |

[/ QUOTE ] lol, nit [/ QUOTE ] Uhm, nice answer [/ QUOTE ] TY My point was that the fact that alchohol is more expensive should not be a deciding factor in whether you're going to visit a place or not. So what if you spend a little more on beer? It's only money and it's not like you're buying a car or whatever. It's all incidental costs. Btw, I'm from Iceland so I have no idea what bolaget is. There's a state monopoly on alchohol here as well but you can get any type of beer and alchohol at the state-run stores (I like Chimay which is 9%) and it's open mon-sat til 7pm . |

I like mountains and stuff so I can imagine that Norway and Sweden are more fun than Denmark in that sense. But yeah, systembolaget sucks donkey balls! Edit: oh and people from Stockholm often travel to Estland just to get drunk. That's how bad things with alcohol are in there |

Re: ***SSNL LIFE THREAD NOV***
Have you ever gone into the forest and sat completely silently for an hour or more?
I find it really interesting |
