argh spot against the good dr
DrGiggy in case you don't know him is very good and very loose, something like 31/25/4 or so. He 3bets a TON, and has been known to 5bet shove light, etc. We played a fairly big 3bet pot earlier where I opened from LP with K9dd, called his 3bet out of the blinds, and flopped TP and a flush draw. I called a large bet on flop and turn (we were deep), checked down river unimproved and he had A4ss, no pair no draw.
On to the hand... on the turn I don't really want to get crai this deep so I checked behind. And then on the river, what do people think of my bet/fold sizing? And does anyone like a call? Giggy is definitely crazy but also good, and my hand is pretty face up I think, so is he ever pulling a sick bluff here? Re: argh spot against the good dr
Ugh--crappy spot.
Generally against the 30/20's I either go for pot control OR I make sure not to give them free cards. In this hand then if I was going for pot control, I'd just check the river. If I was ready to play a big pot I'd make a big bet on the turn. I'd much prefer to bet the turn in this particular hand, though not sure what I would do if he raised. |

Re: argh spot against the good dr
It's a fold, cuz I don't think he gets that crazy that deep. I think you have to bet the turn as well, because he will not cr a draw that deep I would think.
I put him on AKdd. |

Re: argh spot against the good dr
So b/f turn seems to be the play? How big of a bet do you guys like? Like $215?

Re: argh spot against the good dr
not sure of your dynamic with him. if me and him were in battling mode (not clear if you guys are tangling too much), i might raise flop, call push, as spewy as that may sound.

Re: argh spot against the good dr
GOOD CHANCE YOU SHOULD HAVE PAID GIGGY OFF HERE.
He knows you cant have a huge hand AND he takes advantage of every opportunity such as this. I take the krantz approach and pay him on this first go around. Pay now and get the read. Giggy may be one of the few players at this level capable of this play (this deep) very often, but he certainly is one of them. |

Re: argh spot against the good dr
I'd call, he knows that you have KQ most of the time and that he will be able to push you off this hand, since you are very deep.
He may rocks really hard, but I think it was your pot this time... |

Re: argh spot against the good dr
meh, I'd probably call against someone like that. There are a squillion ways he can have air up to the river, and not that many great hands. For most players (and by most I guess I mean almost all) their frequency of bluff raising the river is small emough that they have it way too often to call, but villian sounds like the type where calling is prob +EV. Still a big call to make being fairly deep.
