Re: 200NL set facing river overbet
Preflop: Raise. Limping isn't terrible but raising is clearly better as it enable you to pick you more small pots both preflop and on the flop. It also enables us to build a big pot when we hit our set.
Flop: I normally lead here but it's fine to go for the checkraise too. Turn: Raise more since we wanna get money in the pot and there are also draws out there. I make it $45-50 River: Call. The only hands that worry us are 55, 88 and 42. AA and KK are improbable. |

Re: 200NL set facing river overbet
Ok, so you advocate a call, do you want the result ?

Re: 200NL set facing river overbet
not really, calling here is by far the best play imo, no need to be results-oriented

Re: 200NL set facing river overbet
Anyway, it was the best play, Villain has A7 of club and I should have bet more on turn. But I don't get his line on river.
Do you also call if a club comes on river ? |

Re: 200NL set facing river overbet
Do you really see him doing this with a better set or the wheel? I believe something like A5 or A8 is a lot more likely. No way am I folding the way this was played out.
