Re: My First, And Perhaps Only, Statement About Absolute

The games are probably juicier [/ QUOTE ] this statement probably just made them a little less juicy. |

Re: My First, And Perhaps Only, Statement About Absolute
[ QUOTE ]
So rather than being shocked, one should strive to put themselves in positions where those who could cheat you think it is in their best interests not to. Don't trust people to be honest. Trust them to do what is in their best interests. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] As long as the profit motive is your main motive. Many of the best players are not playing at Absolute right now. The games are probably juicier and Absolute is probably bending over backwards to entice you to go there. [/ QUOTE ] This is whats wrong with the OP. Sklansky and mason should use their influence to help punish AP for their wrongdoing rather than endorse it. This would help create incentive for AP and other sites to institute measures to stop cheating. Using sklanksy's logic we can be certain that 2+2 is receiving financial gain for helping to endorse AP, otherwise they would have no reason to make these posts, because it is not for their personal gain. Also when they say they aren't we can be certain they are lieing because they have no concern for honesty, only monetary gain. |

as sad as it is, sklansky is right. I dont really see how you can argue with what he said in his post. its sick and disgusting and what not, but its true. [/ QUOTE ] exactly. It was pretty obvious that there would be an outrage and some backlash, but did people really think that Absolute would fold because of this? Someone cheated and Absolute did a crappy job of handing it. Its terrible, but its not the end of the poker world. People can call for a boycott, but its like voting for Ron Paul; feels like the right thing to do, but in the end, who cares? |

We can't do that. AP paid us a half a million bucks to endorse it. Then they sent me an extra half a million after they read my post. |

Re: My First, And Perhaps Only, Statement About Absolute
Guys he's just stating a simple EV equation.
If (expected win from juicier games at AP) - (expected win from where you play right now) > (whatever price tag you put on your moral repulsion to generating rake for the AP owners), then clearly it is +EV to switch to AP. |

We have all learned a valuable lesson. Organizing online poker players is a lot like herding chickens cross country, on horseback. [/ QUOTE ] |
