LeapFrog 25NL to 50NL???
When I started playing, I told myself that I would move up after successfully playing 10k-30k hands at 10NL. I am about to reach about 15k hands, and, because I did so well at the limit, I am rolled for 50NL. Should I jump right into 50NL, or should I play 10k-30k hands at 25NL as well? I think I can answer my own question here, I would just like validation.
I think I'm going to play at least 15k hands at 25NL as well, just to get used to the monetary swings that way I don't go on some crazy monkey tilt after losing two buyins my first day at 50NL (which would be 10 buyins at my current level). Any thoughts or advice for a newbie??? |

Just play 15K hands at 25NL. You'll feel more comfortable than 50NL.

Re: LeapFrog 25NL to 50NL???
As someone that practices meticulous bankroll management, I find that I am not particularly good at deal with swongs at a new level, even if I am properly rolled for it. As such, I would recommend you spend a little time getting used to 25NL before leaping into 50NL.

Over these, 4590 hands I ran at 26.59PTBB/100, and the previous 9k-11k hands on my laptop were very similar. So, it's definately been a good run. However, I feel like an average for me is like 19 - 22 PTBB/100 at NL10, but I may just be running really well. |

Re: LeapFrog 25NL to 50NL???
You're running amazingly well if you're at anything over 15ptbb/100 unless the NL10 players really do suck that bad, which I can't see happening.
I don't mean to be rude, but if you're doing that, it's most likely purely luck (most of it, maybe not all) and you're definitely not prepared skill wise for NL50. I would definitely play NL25 before I would go to NL50 and see how you do there, where you can really see players play, instead of the donks flopping around at NL10. |

No, they really are that bad. I was sitting at a few tables today with 3 of the other 5 players were like 75/10, and the other guy was super tight 2.3/2.3 ish, and they play so poorly post flop. It is NL10, after all, but you're right. I'm probably not going to see this poor of play past NL25.

Re: LeapFrog 25NL to 50NL???
Depending on the site, there is little difference in the ability of the opponents from 25 to 50NL 6max.
If you are rolled for 50NL then play with confidence and you will beat it. The main problem I faced initially was adjusting to the larger pots - so quickly gain the disregard for money again. Gl |
