NL25: KK overpair and flush draw on a monotone flop
Villain hadn't been at the table too long before this hand, he was playing tight and hadn't really done anything of note. Based on his raise I'd say his range is sets, 99-QQ, A-big with the ace of diamonds, a flush and maybe overs with the Qd. So what is my move here?

i mess up here too, i wanna see what people say. i think there are so many combinations he could have. i'd say a set or something like AQ with the A of diamonds like you said. I would call here and proceed with caution

this is a very drawy board, and you have the K of diamonds, BB has A of diamonds here a lot, 3 ball this flop and get the money in.

umm, call? I've been disagreeing with AMA all day tho, so don't trust me. The monster draw makes me want to play this to the wall and just felt asap, but I can't see alot of money getting into the pot against any hand I beat.

Isn't a set very likely? And if he has the A of diamonds he has 12 outs. Seems marginal to me. I just think if you get it in at best your a slight favorite over Ax with the A of diamonds.

Re: NL25: KK overpair and flush draw on a monotone flop
raise more pf, bet more on the flop, now it is tough, he probably has a diamond in his hand, or even two, so i guess you have like 7 outs at this point. And there is one hand that beats us for sure - Ad, and hypothetically, 75dd (very unlikely though), we might see a scared set here sometimes, but not really concerned about it. 3betting this definitely make us pot-committed, so it is either a shove right here, or, a weird call (almost 4 to 1 odds and you haven't invested anything, really) and no particular strategy on the turn if the board pairs, or he another diamond hits and he rr you all-in. I'm more inclined towards a call here, though, but if i had been in that hand, i would have shoved

I shove here. Villain could easily be on the A of diamonds or an over pair trying to stop you from drawing. You cant crai on this turn, the stack sizes dont allow it.

Non-diamond I'm just calling to see what developes on the riv. am I just giving out 3 street of value here? |

Re: NL25: KK overpair and flush draw on a monotone flop
Why are you betting less then 1/2 pot on the flop? It looks weak and some players will raise you because you're clearly scared. So his handrange may be much larger then you give him credit for.
Also- I'd raise more pf. I assume you hit the bet pot button. I do recommend the 4bb+1bb for each limper. So I'd raise here to $1.50 preflop. As played, I would have bet $4 on the flop. Since you both have less then 100bb and you're ahead of much of his range and have outs when you're behind (unless he has the nutflush already), I'd just assume get it in on the flop. |
