Thoughts and results...
Thoughts: Raise or fold pre-flop. Fold to the flop cap.
Results: Flop action: (6 small bets, 6 players) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG bets, I raise, UTG+2 3-bets, all else fold to UTG who caps, I fold, UTG+2 calls. Turn action: (8 big bets, 2 players) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG bets, UTG+2 raises, UTG calls River action (12 big bets, 2 players) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG bets, UTG+2 raises, UTG re-raises, UTG+2 calls. UTG had A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG+2 had 9To for a chop. How do we rate Pro's play here? Garland |

Re: Thoughts and results...
Preflop I thought Pro had A8/A7/88/77 or a weaker A than you (AT most likely).
I put you on ATish based on your comments. Pro's play I like except the 3 bet on the river. I probably would have c/r'd the flop though in UTG's case. I'm not sure how a lead is superior. But once Pro bets the flop, the cap is good to try to get you to fold AT/A9 which is a good guess at what you have. |

And actually the more I think of it, the more I think the river action went: UTG check/check-raise/4-bet. Garland |

So you approve of UTG limp with A9s? [/ QUOTE ] At a loose-passive table, I'll limp UTG with hands as bad as ATo, A7s, KJo, 77, maybe QJs if I can expect lots of cold-callers. |

[/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Ok semi-loose 9-handed. Aggressive table, but not tricky. Only *** of 5 stars. There is a Pro to my right who to my knowledge has logged well over a thousand hours at 20/40. [/ QUOTE ] It wasn't that loose, and certainly wasn't passive. I almost universally reject ATo, A7s and KJo UTG full ring. I limp 77 if I expect a lot of limpers and QJs is really iffy...maybe under ideal circumstances. I'm certainly no authority on pre-flop standards. But I guess it appears I play too tight from early position and really, really laggy from CO/HJ...at least by 2+2 standards. Garland |

It depends on the PF table conditions, but in many of the PF limp fests that you might get at Commerce or FW's, QJs, Axs, medium pairs are certainly playable. And if you're going to play AJo, raise it. |
