it's a 3 bet for value.
you're ahead a very large amount of the time. charge the flush draw or get value if he holds a 7.
hand is tough to play if you just call the flop and the turn is a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

What is your read of the villain? Is he overly aggressive or super tight/passive? A paired, scary board is a great place to through a raise in with over cards against weak/tighties. Trips over trips isn't as rare as set over set so it is possibly your out kicked but for the most part 3-bet here unless you have some kind of read the villain is a maroon.

Reraise.

Your opponent might also have trip 2's with a better kicker, but he could also be raising the flop with a pocket pair.

If he caps the flop, then I think that you need to call down.

If he just calls your flop 3-bet, lead the turn.

Grunch:
Hero calls, and check/raises the turn

That 3 bet can mean a lot of things, and one of them is that he does not quite believe you will lead out trips here

I think this is a 3 bet to protect your hand and maybe gain info. MP3 is more likely to have overcards, a medium PP, or even A7 than anything with a 2. Could also be 77, in which case I would expect him to cap.

3-betting the flop is virtually announcing that you have a 2.....If he doesn't have one, do we want him to shut down? I would call the raise, and check/raise virtually anything on the turn (including a spade). He's not raising for value for a flush draw since there was only you and him left when he raised....maybe he's raising for value with his 7 high, for information (which is really common) or for something else. If you get 3-bet on the turn...I would call it down from there.

Sorry dude, this is a classic free card play by villian. He raises this flop with a flush draw and scares a weak 2. wiffs the turn, and shows down for cheap, or folds when he misses again. You have to raise this for value, who cares if you announce you have a 2, your hand is vulnerable.

Sorry, but i don't think check raising a spade is a good idea.
