I don't think anyone is using the Steelers playoff wins at a metric for Ben's success. Pretty much just him looking really [censored] good lately.

Brees or Palmer...

Who have a combined 1 playoff win between them?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well he is using Brees' and Palmer's lack of success in the playoffs as reasons to why they aren't as good as Big Ben, so yea, he pretty much is.

Carson Palmer career record as starter: 35-34

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, he is over .500 on the Bengals. So he is the main force behind a team going from historically horrible to competitive is your argument against him?

While Big Ben luckboxes into a great situation/team where he doesn't need to win games, just manage them, and now he is a better QB?

Lets give Big Ben all the credit for that Super Bowl win, I mean he did carry the team on his shoulders with that sub 30 qb rating.

[/ QUOTE ]

They were 8-8 the year before Palmer was starter. The Steelers were 6-10 the year before Roethlisberger started.

If you think the Browns have more offensive talent than the Bengals you are to quote another "an idiot".

[/ QUOTE ]

Says the guy who credits the Steelers' SB XL win to Ben Roethlisberger.

Dammit. I completely forgot how much we owned the Steelers offense except for 2 damn [censored] plays in that game.

Is everyone forgetting the three road playoff wins before that in that Super Bowl run?

And they were 13-3 and 10-5-1 the two seasons before that. So they had one off year, Big Ben went in to a much better sitation than Carson Palmer did. Not to mention for the Bengals to win Carson Palmer has to be lights out. The Steelers won a super bowl with Big Ben having the worst performance by a QB in SB history.

Yes, because Ben Roethlisberger was directly responsible for the Steelers shutting down the league's best offense and Carson Palmer's injury in the Wild Card game.

Just like Tom Brady won the 2001 Super Bowl by himself with his grit, clutch, and sexiness.

FWIW for those who just started following football in September, Ben Roethlisberger started off 2-6 last year. No excuse for that record with the talent the Steelers had.

Carson Palmer may not be having the 3rd best season of NFL quarterbacks but over the course of the past few seasons he's definitely #3.

Isn't the Steelers record when he throws over 30 or 35 times in a game atrocious? I forget the exact stat, but it shows that the Steelers do not have success when they make Big Ben win games for them.

Top 3 QB's win games, not manage them.

Nah. It shows that they don't let Ben throw the ball a lot when they're up (which makes sense). That said, Ben doesn't throw the ball a lot, which definitely means he is less valuable than QB's who do throw the QB a lot (and are as good per pass).
