pretty much - unless we could somehow convince ourselves that villain will call off half his stack pre-flop with AQ.

plz dont bet flop

[/ QUOTE ]

are u saying this because his range has narrowed so much that QQ is the only hand in his range we can get him to fold on the flop??

[/ QUOTE ]

i dont even expct him to fold QQ/JJ often anyway. and yeah you should assume he has a really small range.

(although a 19/14 called my small 4b w/ J9s the other day, wierd)

no this is a good check villain doesn't have much more than 1/2 pot bet and he seems pretty aggro i dont see him folding JJ/QQ often. try to check it down. PF i'd 4bet to $65-$70

i think calling with QQ or JJ, post flop from Villain would be terrible.

Making it $60 pre-flop will accomplish the same thing as $89 - namely, getting him to fold if he is in fact squeezing. Now, if he calls, you have a $120 pot on the flop and villain has just about that much behind - it's much easier for him to fold JJ/QQ in this case.

you should shove flop all day if you think Villain ever has JJ or QQ and will fold. In other words, you're making a huge mistake if he'll fold a better hand on the flop. On the other hand, you're making a very small mistake if he calls with JJ or QQ.

fwiw, the feeling these days is to make your bluff 4-bet small, so you can get away from it preflop. If you plan on 4-betting and calling, then I suggest using a hand that has at least an Ace in it so that the Villain will have less hands he can call with in his range since u have an Ace and if u get called there's a chance that the Ace is an out.

Yeah PF sizing is terrible, I check flop a lot of the time anyway so post flop is fine imo. Might as well shove if you decide to bet.
