100NL... Playing a Monster Draw
Villain is 30/25 over a small sample. No reason to believe he's a drooler...
I have a bad habit of overplaying these types of hands and wanted some feedback on this one in particular... Villain raises UTG to 3.5, I 3bet [Ac, Qc] OTB to 11, Blinds fold, Villain calls. Flop: [10s, 3c, Kc] (23.50) Villain bets 18, I...? |

I just shove, becasue I don't mind him folding anything like QQ or even KQ if he happened to call with that.

Re: 100NL... Playing a Monster Draw
Assuming 100bb stacks this is a clear push. You have 12 outs, sometimes more, and plenty of fold equity. When you get called it's gonna be a flip and sometimes you take the pot now.

Re: 100NL... Playing a Monster Draw
So my first thought was to insta-shove, but then I started going through
villian's range. Sorry I don't have poker stove in front of me but let's say his range is AK, 99-QQ, and less so based on not getting 4 bet KK-AA. If we shove (especially if we are deep) then I only see us folding out worse hands in terms of pot equity (under pairs to a K), and risking a lot for the smallish size pot, whereas we are only going to get called by hands that we are pretty much behind on. so if our villian has the below holdings we are playing for stacks with the worst of it, and if he has a club, then it even makes it worse. 10 AK AA KK I only see us folding out: 99 JJ So to me shoving seems kind of spewy. Since you have position, why not call the flop bet, which could just be a c-bet, and re-evaulate on the turn. If you didn't have position then I might have a different opinion, since he might put you on a draw, depending how you play it. Feedback on my analyzis. |
