Re: one of the weirdest hands i\'ve played in a while
[ QUOTE ]
You have 1262 posts, still playing 10NL. Perhaps there is a deeper problem here. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is a pretty unfair assumption tbh. Along with well named, I also am a recreational player who really does want to get better, but do not have the opportunity to play even close to the amount of hands as many other people on here do. But I have the opportunity to read/post on here much more often because of work, ect... I play 5NL right now just because I don't have the extra money to be playing higher limits, and I don't want to expose more money to my lack of skill right now anyway, I'd rather just earn my way up at my own pace and comfort level. Hell it might be a year or more before I get to NL25. As long as I stay active on here I may have over 1000 posts by then too. Will I have a deeper poker problem then also, maybe, but that's an unfair assumption on someone you don't really know. [ QUOTE ] I also think this is evident by the fact that you posted a question playing 99 OOP and immediately posted another spot with 99 OOP like you hadn't even been thinking about the first hand you posted and how to improve upon your play. [/ QUOTE ] BTW, I'm just curious, is this the 99 post you are referring to? |

You have 1262 posts, still playing 10NL. Perhaps there is a deeper problem here. No disrespect intended, but maybe you aren't taking your learning of poker as seriously as you need to be. [/ QUOTE ] I am happy that you qualified your statement, but lets try not to get too personal, please. I think that if you were to just call this hand preflop you would have much more room to move postflop and your decisions would be much easier. I would 3bet this against some, but not all opponents, and given that your post flop play needs development you would be best to keep your pots small so as to leave yourself room to manouver. For those who say to call preflop for set value, well yes you could call for set value but often you end up with the best hand on the river vs villains range, so its not a strictly fit or fold situation on the flop. |

OSUGreg1983:
I played higher just moved down to get some confidence. Other than that: Why does a post count imply anything? I started posting in the limit section, then moved to uNL, i post a lot in the brew, and sometimes NVG. My 99 thing: I went through my PT database after some thousand hands. I wanted to get some advice on those hands (I think there's nothing wrong with that). And I think i dont need coaching right now, i beat those games . Ama: I think the 3bet preflop is standard, since flatcalling invites nearly all the players behind me. I dont know what you mean by a "postflop problem", but i think this hand was pretty weird. That's how the hand ended: Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter BB: $11.25 UTG: $10 Hero (MP): $14.70 CO: $22.75 BTN: $10.80 SB: $2.65 Pre-Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (MP) UTG raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $1.20, CO calls $1.20, BTN folds, SB calls $1.15, BB folds, UTG calls $0.80 Flop: ($4.90) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 Players) SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $2.25, CO calls $2.25, SB calls $1.45 and is All-In, UTG folds Turn: ($10.85) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players - 1 is All-In) Hero checks, CO checks River: ($10.85) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players - 1 is All-In) Hero checks, CO checks Results: $10.85 Pot ($0.50 Rake) Hero showed T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a pair of Tens) and WON $10.35 (+$6.90 NET) CO mucked A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and LOST (-$3.45 NET) SB mucked K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and LOST (-$2.65 NET) |

How can you have over 1200 post and not know what to do here. [/ QUOTE ] level? why would the posts matter? I think it's a tough situation. Maybe you know what to do, but why would you respond then? |
