Downsview Park baby!!

[/ QUOTE ]

If it were to happen this is exactly where it should be built. They cannot put another sporting arena downtown - Skydome, ACC, Ricoh, BMO Field - it's already too congested.

Downsview isn't overdeveloped and has good access to the major highways and TTC.

Is 80k really a mandatory requirement.
That doesn't make a lot of sense to me as currently there are 2 NFL stadiums that hold 80k or more:
Fed Ex Field = 91.7k
Giants Stadium - 80.2k

You have 7 more that are between 72k and 80k:
KC, DEN, MIA, BUF, CAR, CLE, GB

And a whole bunch that are 71k or lower.

The smallest 10 are 66k or lower:
IND, CHI, OAK, ARI, MIN, DET, CIN, TB, DAL, STL.

Currently the smallest capacity in the NFL is the RCA dome at 58k, and that is going to be placed next season by a 72k seat stadium.
The 80k requirement might be a bit high but Skydome would be the smallest stadium in the league.

God I hope not. All we'd get on TV across the country is the Bills...

Thanks to Bell Expressview I do get to see the Bills every week, and I live in Saskatchewan (go ahead lol) which is physically closer to the Viks or maybe even Seahawks fans.

Skydome could easily add more seats than current football capacity, since the CFL field is so huge.

I think the area required to play NFL football is as large as it is for the CFL because the NFL has higher requirements for the amount of sideline space than the CFL does. So the field area is smaller but the seats can't be moved closer.

Maybe on the end-zones or something there is room for more seats.
But on the sidelines I would assume you can't add seats because the front row in the main-stand is already as low as you can realistically go and you don't want to just put seats in front of those that would block that view...and you don't want to put a bunch of chairs at ground level.

In theory, if the sport really took off, what would you guys think of a team in London?

TO could support an NFL team for sure.

They could also support a second NHL team in the Area.
