[/ QUOTE ] If you look closely in the check scene, the guy cashing the check is wearing a yamika--he is probably friends with the professor so he let Mike cash such a large check without a fee. As to his big apartment...come on, the movie is supposed to be about this amazing poker player who can make tons of money. If he and his girlfriend lived in a crappy one room shack it wouldn't be consistent.
