Gave in and skimmed the story. No miranda rights read stuck out the most. If you got charged with anything it woulda been dropped based on that fact alone.

Never been arrested or in a situation like this, but dont they make you sign a card or something w/ miranda on it in at least some states just probably for this reason

Miranda only matters if they intend to introduce evidence obtained in violation of those rights at trial. In other words you can be arrested and never read your rights and it will not matter at all in many cases.
