SW at Wynn is amazingly good. I ate at Emeril's place at Venetian this past weekend and thought it was really good too, however SW is the best so far. Also the little buddah at Palms is quite good

Free drinks...play penny slots and tip $1 or go to casino royale for $1 michelob and 16oz budweisers (may have been a promotion last week only...unsure)

Excalibur is fine if you know what you are getting and do not care if you have the most beautiful expensive room on the strip. It is simple basic lodging and as long as both of you realize that and watching a budget is important it is a great place to stay. Persoanlly I really like staying there but I do not care bout the fancy room thing. I would rather spend my money elsewhere than on a room I am going to only be in to sleep a few hours a night and to shower and clean up.

Poker room at Excalibur is not bad. The people there are really nice and I think it is a fun room to play in. There is even a wheel you can spin for cash prizes when aces are cracked or when a person hits a 4 of a kind of higher.

For cheap food, there is a food court right in Excalibur on the 2nd floor. McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Quizno's, Stone Cold Creamery, Starbucks and Krizpy Kreme donuts complete with freah hot donuts if oyu getthere early in the morning! The buffet there is fine if you just want simple "Home" type cooking with all the shrimp you can eat tossed in. Not as fancy or nice as some of the other buffets, like the one at Planet Hollywood but for a quick fill your gut meal it is fine. There is also a Dick's Last Resort in Excalibur and it is a fun place and the meal I had there was pretty good as well. They also have a place there that makes frozen drinks too which is really fun! After that there are literally TONs of places to eat that are close (walking distance) by.

One reccomendation for a fun show that is cheap would be the Comedy Stop at the Tropicanna. I went there with a buddy last time I was there and it was a ball. It was only like $20 and it included a drink. The comedians were good and we had a great time.

Vegas Bars and clubs are not my thing so I am no help there.

Excalibur is in a great location for the South strip. A really fun thing to do, especially the first few times in Vegas is to walk down the strip and check out the sights. See the Bellagio fountains at night. They are really well worth it especially with the GF along. A trip to Downtown (Fremont Street) is usually always fun as well. Go in the evening for the light shows and for a decent buffet try the Main Street station. The brew pub there is also pretty good as well. You can get downtown by cab for a little over $20 or hop the Duce bus which is all of $2 and not much more for a 24Hr pass, I think. I have heard it takes while awhile to get downtown but for $2 each you get a ride right down the strip and a cheap way to get downtown.

Having Fun is the main thing!

1. Best poker rooms for 1/2 NL and also low stakes tourneys.

[/ QUOTE ]

All poker rooms have 1/2 NL, and they are all pretty much the same (some exceptions - Bellagio has 2/5 as the lowest limit). You can find good games anywhere - it only matters who shows up at the particular table you sit down at.

For tournaments, I really like Caesar's. You might find this link helpful

2. Best place to get good food. Both cheap food and really good more pricey food.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm a sucker for good buffets. Bellagio has always been good, but I'm told the price is going up and the quality is not getting any better. The Mirage buffet is good. I'm told the buffet at the Aladdin and Wynn are both quite good.

3. Any thoughts on shows or other things that are a must do while in vegas?

[/ QUOTE ]

You should probably see at least one Cirque show. It really depends on what sort of thing you like. I liked Ka. If you like Beetles music, see Love.

5. Places to get food/alchol for cheap when hanging out/drinking outside the bars?

[/ QUOTE ]

At the poker table of course!

[ QUOTE ]
I'm gonna be staying at the Excilabur for a week.

[/ QUOTE ]

Consider getting a poker rate from them, if your girlfriend can stand you playing poker 4 hours a day. Call the poker room to get it. The 1/2 NL games there will be as good as anywhere, though fewer tables than a few of the bigger places, of course.

"From the folks who brought you Circus Circus, this is another run-down joint that appeals to the family set, with arcades, shows and restaurants designed to keep the kiddies busy while their parents blow a wad in the casino. It's as noisy and overrun with tots as its circus cousin, so if you're looking for an adult vacation, you might want to check elsewhere."

I stayed there, got the poker room rate, and didn't notice any of that stuff.

Oh by the way, I thought the Bodies exhibit was pretty amazing, if you're in to that sort of thing.

I never have either.

Another thing to mention, if you do not have a poker room rate at the Ex is to talk to the folks in the poker room and let them know you are staying there and they will fill out a card and track your hours there. At the end of the week they can get you a card for a discount rate when you check out. Food coupons are also available if you ask as well which is not a lot but better than a sharp stick in the eye as well.

Another thing to check out are the 1/2 price ticket places where you go in the morning of the show and can buy tickets for various shows for that evening.
tickets2nite which is close to Excalibur, next to MGM and inside the Coca Cola building.
There is also a Tix4Tonight which is also fairly close in the Hawaiian Marketplace - South Strip at Polo Towers.

Careful man, your post might get deemed and probably will as spam. Here's a tip; "PM me for how to jump the line" would be better. You can't sell your services on this site without buying classified ads basically.
