Default Fold top two pair on the flop?

This JUST happened.

Full Tilt $5.50

Whale has 14100 55% flops the entire tournament (go figure)
Hero has 400
Shorty has 500

Blinds are t400

Shorty has not played a hand for last 46 and was 7%VPIP at <t100. He has watched as others bow out of the game.

I'm in BB and flop top two pair AJ9 rainbow.

I check and Whale bets to push me all in. Simple right? I push! But wait. Shorty has not played a hand in last 46 and is 2 blinds away from putting me in 2nd. Is he even THERE???

Do I start my grind against the LAG? Do I solidify 2nd by folding TOP TWO PAIR? If he goes all in and wins then I'M the one in trouble. But I had TTP NOW!!

find the actual HH... As you have presented this you are already all in preflop.

?
Think about how likely you are to win if you call. Then think about how likely shorty is to win his next hand. Then think about how likely you are to get 2nd in all those cases.
And actually it's really not close with one pair of aces and if you knew shorty would bust next hand.

Well - I pushed all in with top two pair and lost to a set.

I was pissed because I SHOULD have waited - however - the SITTING OUT player then won his next seven hands against whale before going all in and losing

LOL

Maybe its just me, but every Webster post is an almost absurd dissertation on how to fold in +ev spots.
