If the Colts/Pats do meet again, will it be SuperBowl 41 3/4?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't see who in NFC would be able to compete with either team. DVOA agrees.

Don Shula needs an asterisk. Not a Pats fan, but come on, they're killing everybody. Shula needs to stop being a baby and get over the fact that 1972 is ancient history. I may not agree with the Pats' running up of the scores, but come on. Spygate has little to do with it. Probably a negligible amount.

Dallas is within striking distance

if 17% is 3pts then Dallas is 4.75pts weaker than NE, 1.75pts than Indy or so, on a neutral field

that is one big play from being overcome

there is no way Dallas would be -5 on a neutral field vs NE. NE was -5.5 @ Dallas, and I think that was pretty fair.

thats said, sure, the teams are competitive, but NE would/should be favored by more than a TD on a neutral field (which is about the same as a potential line for Indy @ NE I think)

FWIW, nowhere in that story does Shula say the Patriots deserve an asterisk.

LOL, everyone is pretty silly in this thread. Someone came out and asked him a question and he responded...what the [censored] is he supposed to do? That and he only said this scandal would diminish the record...which is does.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you were as smart as Semtex you could READ BETWEEN THE LINES and understand that obv Shula is banging BB's wife.

For what its worth:

The 1972 Dolphins played at Kansas City, Houston, at Minnesota, at the Jets, San Diego, Buffalo, at Baltimore, at Buffalo, New England, Jets, St. Louis, at New England, at the Giants, Baltimore, Cleveland, at Pittsburgh, Washington (Super Bowl).

All of those teams stink, except for Washington.

Interestingly enough, the Patriots have a lot of the same teams in common:

At Jets!, San Diego!, Bills!, at Bengals, Cleveland!, at Dallas, at Miami!, Washington!, at Colts!, at Buffalo!, Philadelphia, at Baltimore!, Pittsburgh!, Jets!, Dolphins!!, at Giants!

So far, except for Dallas and Cincy, its about the same shedule. If the Pats go unbeaten, there is no way they should be considered better than the Dolphins. They played all the same teams and each won out.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, 'cause all those teams are playing the same exact personnel from 35 years ago. Very nice.

NT honestly man this is why i think pats fans are insufferable. You have no clue. Kneel said i was making stuff up b/c I said Shula thought the spygate thing was more than a week 1 camera incident. In my post I made it explicitly clear everything else is what I thought, not Shula.

I think what bugs him is the classless way this team might go about breaking his record.

[/ QUOTE ]

explain what you mean. really.

[/ QUOTE ]
Its everything from cheating, to running up the score, to Belichick being an arrogant A-hole in press conferences, to him not shaking the hands of other coach when he wins, to the players spiking balls on the Indy helmet and doing the 'lights out' on the Charger's logo, this is probably the crap that bugs him .

[/ QUOTE ]

yes when asked to explain why you think this is "probably the crap that bugs him" you are unable to provide any answer better than "it's just a guess" and you react by calling me insufferable and impossible to argue with.

bottom line is that this stuff bothers YOU. taking Shula's comment to mean he "probably" agrees with you is just dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]
this is my last post in the thread. you guys are idiots. when we're talking about the post in which you said i was making stuff up, you might want to actually quote THAT post instead of bring up some other random one just to prove your point. i'm too lazy to do it and i'm done with this thread, but go back and read it and i explicitly say that the stuff about shula being bugged is my opinion, while the stuff about him thinking the cheating scandal was more than just the week 1 camera incident is fact. then you accuse me of making stuff up. so either you're accusing me of making the stuff up about shula thinking the cheating was a big deal, which i proved he did, or you're accusing me of making up my own opinion about something. either way you and NT are idiots. peace.
