10/20 Big Fold vs. Daut69
6 handed, effective stacks of 2k. I open 2nd to act with KJo and raise to $70 and daut calls on the button, HU. There is no history between us. The flop is Ac Jc 6h, I check and he checks. The turn is a Jd, I lead out $135 and he raises to $450 and I call.
In retrospect I think I should 3 bet here, thoughts? The river is Qh, I check and he bets $820 into the $1050 pot, and I folded. |

Do you think he 3 outed you on the river, is that why you folded?

Doesn't look good. Daut is perfectly capable of tricky play here.

Re: 10/20 Big Fold vs. Daut69
He could have checked behind the flop with AJ or 66. Also it's probably a better play to call in his spot if he has weak trip jacks on the turn like JT or J9 (and those he could just fold preflop). For some reason I thought daut was a tight, almost nitty skilled player. But maybe my impression was wrong I just saw this
*** HOLE CARDS *** luggy7 folds Daut99 raises to $175 313OG folds The Riparian raises to $550 Daut99 calls $375 *** FLOP *** [4d Kc Jc] The Riparian has 15 seconds left to act The Riparian bets $800 Daut99 calls $800 *** TURN *** [4d Kc Jc] [2s] The Riparian checks Daut99 bets $3,899, and is all in The Riparian calls $3,899 Daut99 shows [5d 6d] The Riparian shows [Kd 8h] *** RIVER *** [4d Kc Jc 2s] [Ts] Daut99 shows King Jack high The Riparian shows a pair of Kings The Riparian wins the pot ($10,521) with a pair of Kings Daut99 adds $5,000 *** SUMMARY *** Total pot $10,523 | Rake $2 Board: [4d Kc Jc 2s Ts] Seat 1: Grimstarr is sitting out Seat 2: Daut99 (button) showed [5d 6d] and lost with King Jack high Seat 3: 313OG (small blind) folded before the Flop Seat 4: The Riparian (big blind) showed [Kd 8h] and won ($10,521) with a pair of Kings Seat 5: applelover is sitting out Seat 6: luggy7 didn't bet (folded) [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Re: 10/20 Big Fold vs. Daut69
If you bet that river, he instafolds. Still a great spot for 66 though. Also Daut is skilled, just not tight and nitty.

Re: 10/20 Big Fold vs. Daut69
I bet the flop as my default mostly. But checkin sometimes is ok, bet/call the turn is fine as well but there is no reason to fold the river.

Re: 10/20 Big Fold vs. Daut69
Part of the reason I folded the river, a big part is... I checked the flop, then be the turn. What changed on the turn? The board paired up jacks and that is when I choose to bet and call his raise. But he didnt seemt o have any problem betting again on the river with that informatoin...

Re: 10/20 Big Fold vs. Daut69
Given the way it was played I think I would call the river.
