Re: *** OFFICIAL 2007 DETROIT LIONS PLAYOFF THREAD ***
Millen made some bizarre cuts early in his tenure, including Jeff Hartings and Johnnie Morton. I liked the Dre Bly trade because Lions desperately need linemen way more than Bly, imo.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I really dont see how CJ could average 10-12 touches a game. For example randy moss hasnt gone over 9 "touches" a game, of course he hasnt had an rushing attempts but I dont see how you can expect CJ to pull in 9-10 catches a game and then a few carries, its ridiculous. [/ QUOTE ] 1. Sign Reggie Ball 2. Bring him in 5-6 times a game. 3. Run the Option 4. ?????? 5. Profit. [/ QUOTE ] FYP [/ QUOTE ] Did he not make scout team during training camp? |

Re: *** OFFICIAL 2007 DETROIT LIONS PLAYOFF THREAD ***
The first thing Millen did was give big contracts to Bill Schroeder and Az Hakim to go along with his rookie quarterback. That was pretty awful. Good FA signings were Kitna (best by far) and Bly. Kennedy + Bryant... meh. The offensive line is pretty terrible imo. The "skill" position is awesome but no one could have failed after using so many high picks on it, seriously. Defense is not very good, well coached though. Whole team is just coached superb imo. So Millen picked a good coaching staff in 3 tries, wee.
I mean, meh... you can't fire him because another GM could do something idiotic like chase away the coaches. I just hope all major decisions run through Marinelli/Martz. |

Re: *** OFFICIAL 2007 DETROIT LIONS PLAYOFF THREAD ***
Looks like Kevin Jones is a keeper, too. Kitna passed the ball what looked like 20-30 yards downfield to Jones running out of the backfield in game vs. Broncos. This guy could shape up to be like Bryan Westbrook.

How the [censored] do you guys have 6 wins? [/ QUOTE ] Hard work, good luck and a ridiculously easy schedule. I have been waiting for a good Lions year for 8 years. I am looking forward to the Packers-Lions game on Thanksgiving. |

How the [censored] do you guys have 6 wins? [/ QUOTE ] in 2005, lions loose 5 games by less than 7 points, in 2006, 8 games by less than 7. they have more depth, are better coached, and have been lucky with injuries and general game time luck. they have had the potential for a few years now, this year things are clicking. so far. (I'm knocking on wood now) |

Re: *** OFFICIAL 2007 DETROIT LIONS PLAYOFF THREAD ***
More specifically:
2005: 2-5 2006: 1-8 2007: 2-0 So it's not like they played a lot of close games and ran average. They had a terrible close game record. |
