Default Wrong to shove here?

Just wondering if I should have played this more cautiously. This was a $10 SnG, 9 players. I had made a few bluffs earlier against the CO and I think he was starting to play back at me a bit. Maybe he was just getting cards at the right times, but he seemed to be raising me whenever I limped into a pot or put in a small raise. Villain in this hand, the BB, has been playing extremely poorly and lucking out. I've seen him call bets with four to a flush on the turn without any decent odds to do so. His range is extremely wide.

I was thinking of putting in a slightly larger PF raise, but I wanted the CO to come over top of me so I could reraise. That clearly did not work. I did not want BB drawing to a flush for cheap here on the turn. Was this bet spew? Should I have done anything differently? I would like opinions on how I played this.

Im not saying that either one is right or wrong, just interested in why shoving is so far superior to calling down (seems like it is judging from the tone of the answers)?

Hah, thanks for the checkmark. Sorry if this is incredibly standard. I play very low stakes and I'm just always trying to find new ways of improving my game. Normally I might have called here because him betting out on the turn seemed strange to me given his c/c on the flop and that he generally plays flush draws passively.

He showed down T4o to bust me.

He'll have all sorts of random crap here. Maybe he floated the flop with AK or KQ or QJ. He could be playing a draw strangely. total donks will make this move with 2nd pair or worse. AT or KT etc is a real possibility, and you'll be ahead enough % of the time to make this play very profitable. gl w/ learning and improving and stuff. everybody can always learn amirite?
