99 in a not very pleasant spot.
4/8 6 handed, villain is running 42/20/2.4 over 100.
Villain opens UTG, 3 folds, Hero 3 balls out of SB with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB fold, Villain caps. flop: KJ8 rainbow whats the plan? is it too weak to just ch/f here? |

No, it isnīt. Nothing you can do, just fold.

Re: 99 in a not very pleasant spot.
I might c/c the flop and c/f the turn

Re: 99 in a not very pleasant spot.
if villain fires two barrels 100% of the time I think you can just c/f the flop. His UTG raising range has you beat pretty bad right now.
if he is the kind of guy that fears turn c/r's and will check behind with his UI and weaker hands then I probably peel the flop and c/f the turn. Hopefully I see a free river, and then can decided whether or not to b/f or c/c the river. |

Re: 99 in a not very pleasant spot.
Every villain is going to bet the turn, so no reason to peel the flop.
Basically you are hoping he has AQ 77 or 66. And AQ has 10 outs against you, so you have to checkfold flop. |

Re: 99 in a not very pleasant spot.
I doubt he caps AQ or 77 preflop, so I think it's pretty safe to check and fold. Those are the only hands you have beat.

Re: 99 in a not very pleasant spot.
I found that alot of players like these will cap light when they have position, ATs, T9s, 55,66,77, and definitely AQ I would put in the range of stuff I beat, although probably discounted somewhat. However, hes going to fire 2 barrels with AQ and AT and T9 if he caps it most of the time.

Re: 99 in a not very pleasant spot.
This is a yucky spot.
RIO is a concern here because the overcard holding you beat right now has 10 outs. I hate folding but this looks like a spot wher you have to let it go. |
