I like Childress playcalling here. It is too risky to try and score points with only two minutes left and three timeouts. It's such a rare situation it isn't one that teams train for perhaps with a clever name like "Two Minute Alarm"

LOL at just a few posts after my post about GB, someone complains about it.

FWIW that isn't that surprising. Once this play happened three times you figure coaches would get that they need someone relatively fast on the field.

Smart NFL teams are now making sure their field goal units are practicing return defense.

God I wish I could have seen that Chargers play. One of my strategically located slingboxes is not working and of course it's that one.

Question...

If the defense is putting a man back to catch a short FG then they're obviously rushing one less man. So won't doesn't the kicking team put out one less big lineman and instead put a linebacker out there specifically in case of this?

Ya the other thing I noticed is they were taking terrible angles considering 108 yards = 9 yards.

The best part of that play, Cro actually had to reach behind him to get the ball, meaning it was out the endzone, and his foot was on the 1/2 inch line. That was a 109 2 feet 10 inch run.

i was just thinking how cool a 109 yard play is. you have the longest play in the history of the NFL and although others might share it, nobody will EVER be able to take it from you.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I turned it over after Bollinger got sacked, as obviously nothing will happen after that
