Re: Investing Beginner
OP,
Start with Trading for a Living by Alexander Elder. Don't let the title fool you -- it is about much, much more than it seems. For instance, he dedicates a part of the book to the psychology of gambling and how it relates to trading/investing. Then read Market Wizards by Jack D Schwager. It is a collection of interviews with some of the world's most prolific traders / investors. If after reading it you don't feel motivated to "crush" the financial markets then look into finding a capable and established money management firm to handle your assets. After that, assuming you are still motivated to manage your own assets, you may want to read the volume of Warren Buffett's "letters" to shareholders of Berkshire Hathaway. These are freely available on Berkshire's website. From there you should have a decent understanding of markets as well as have better defined your own interests and goals (i.e. are you a trader, a buy and holder, a value investor, a momentum trader, etc.) and can branch off into more erudite topics. |
