People---such as this author---who reify interpretive language as psychological reality deserve to be sent hunting with the Vice President. I say this with completely sincerity.

People who use the term "world view" without irony deserve something worse than merely shotgunning; perhaps bringing back the wheel, ropes, and sledgehammer would suffice.

I think one poster here is going to come out in strong defense of these ideas.

As the primary state university in delaware, U of Del has almost 20,000 students. Founded in 1743 it is one of the oldest universities in the country. I would only be moderately surprised if this level of absurdity was happening at some small, young, private college. But at a large state funded institution like this it is unfathomable.

Sadly, looking through the website also shows that the people on the commisions in charge of this program were appointed by the president of the university himself.

I really think a resignation is in order.

Many of you who visited the link I gave yesterday saw what was up there. Sometime this morning they started destroying the evidence. You'll notice the training documents were all taken down.

In addition to the hard copies they destributed to RAs, FIRE has saved PDFs of the documents and many people preserved screenshots last night.

U of D class of '78 here. What a bunch of hypocrites the administration is. They shove diversity training down the students throats but they refuse to play Delaware St in football:

[ QUOTE ]
“A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination. (This does not deny the existence of such prejudices, hostilities, acts of rage or discrimination.)" - Page 3

Well, I guess that answers my question on wether or not I'm a racist...

On a more disturbing note, I've actually had conversations with people who believe this stuff.
