Thoughts on the min raise preflop
Im sure you all have noticed, like i have, over the last few weeks the min raise pre is becoming a standard play. It used to me my goal to punish minraisers, and it used to be very profitable. Now it seems the min raise is so standard that you no longer can take this action profitably.. the min raise could be anything from 67s, to TT to AA to AK... it just seems its the new standard raise.
Seems we went from 3x, to 2.5x to now just 2x. I myself am not going to take this action but do you agree that the min raise is the new standard 3x raise for a lot of players and do you treat it that way? Thoughts |

Re: Thoughts on the min raise preflop
If the miniraiser or 2.2xBB raiser is a good player, you are not going to get a lot of information from the bet size. I would call lighter from the blinds though.

Re: Thoughts on the min raise preflop
i dislike the 2.2 to 2x raise...i like 2.5 to 2.7...i think you have to adjust it or at least be able to to adjust to your table correctly....i dont like PJs 2.2 raises, seems like your asking to get flatted in position by good players who can outplay you...

Re: Thoughts on the min raise preflop
i used to min raise all the time during mid stages with deep stacked but not too deep stacked for various reasons i stopped doing it though because the only time i get the situation where i think its optimal to min raise is the 100/200 75/150 150/300 200/400 levels of the 100r but i dont play well enough postflop vs the caliber of players in the 100r so i stopped.

Re: Thoughts on the min raise preflop
As an article of faith, I never did. But it definitely has it's place IMO. As much as anything else, people hate it and most people play worse when riled.
