My HOH1 cover is falling apart. I don't think there is much you can do besides not bringing it with you anywhere. HOH1 is the only one I really traveled with a lot and the books I keep at home are in great shape.

I know this sounds silly...
A once fellow math-disciple and friend of mine made one perfect-fit cardboard "box", open in the back, for each book of his to reduce wear and tear. Wether it was this or his declining interest in mainstream math that made his books look new all year, I can't tell. |

I didn't read many of the responses, but I know what works.
They use it in libraries and I have used it too. Use "book tape". You can find it at office supply places and it comes in various widths. You cover the sides of the book and the back spine. It works great! |

I've got a roll of clear sticky back plastic for books etc, only thing is I'm useless with it and always get air bubbles everywhere when I'm covering books :S

Took my book to kinkos, they charged five bucks to put spiral and clear cover on the book!
