Re: Top-pair vs. scary board. Worth seeing a showdown?
They are folding somewhere if we pop the turn, making us put money in behind and driving out hands we want in.
Its unreal that they are both calling and overcalling river, but no way they are fancy enough to go for overcalls with hands that beat you. We are ahead basically always so now that were here, raising the river is fun and they are not folding for 1. |

Re: Top-pair vs. scary board. Worth seeing a showdown?
I may have raised the river, to get some money in the side pot... the way it looks the SB is all in for the 9 and we could very easily pick up a nice side pot with our strong ace.

River is an easy raise. [/ QUOTE ] As played, but raising the turn is better, when draws still have something to call for. By the river somebody might call an all-in bet with KsQs, but they certainly aren't going to call another bet on top of that. |

Re: Top-pair vs. scary board. Worth seeing a showdown?
* grunch *
SB seems to be putting his last chips on the table. I've seen a lot of outrageuos bluffs on a cards less scary than this from small stacks who are also loose. On the turn I'd raise as SB is going all-in anyway and I'd like to extract value from FDs and whatever else the extra cast holds. Raising can get me some value vs. the others on the river when donker is already allin. As played I overcall the river. There's weaker aces and pocketpairs in their ranges often enough. Edit: after reading responses a raise on the river makes sense as well. Turn is a better spot for it though. |
