why don't you 3bet turn and prefere raise the river?

[/ QUOTE ]

for the reasons stated in the above post: "I like your play, there is a lot of 2 pair/ set hands in his range which have outs on the turn and pay a raise on the river anyway. "

I realize if I get 3b on the river, I lose the same amount if he has AQ and were to 3-bet the turn and get capped.

I think on average I win more from the hands I am ahead of by waiting for the river to raise.

like i said, i would play it the same, BUT think about the fact that he is very passive with those stats, i could see him checking the river with two pair after the turn c/r.
Against an tag/lag i would also wait until the river.

The logic behind the raise river idea is, to avoid a paired/flush board. And please dont say: Raise the turn, if the board pairs on the river and he donks ... simply fold.

A normal player can't anticipate this play imo, with top 2 on the river SB thinks he has the best hand 95% of the time.

We have also 2 outs against AQ to save a bet on the river.

What is your line with a spade on the river ? Maybe we can raise fold. AQ can just call. A bluf or a light 'value' 3 bet with this very scary board is very unlikely.

Raise/fold river when a spade hits would be absolutely awful in this spot. There are not much hands that pay off and dont split with us and to fold if villain 3bets his onecard straight would be disastrous.
