200NL: OP vs. Quick Donk-PSB
Villain is ~22/3.5 and semi-passive. He is a losing player over a decent sample (from datamining). I've played a couple sessions with him, and he seems competent but bad (if that makes sense). I have the following notes on him: slowplayed trips until min-raising river...open-limped 99 from 3rd pos...open-limped KQ from button.
My image is TAG...I think I'm running about 14/11 at this point. Against this type of player, is it better to raise the flop or just call and see what he does on the turn? I always find myself confused when players insta-mash the pot button against the PF raiser. (Sorry, I had to convert this by hand because it keeps messing up.) UB 1/2 Villain (SB) - $194.65 HERO - $204.95 HERO [K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] raises to $7. 7 folds. Villain calls. BB folds. Flop ($16): Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SigEp817 quickly bets $16. HERO |

Re: 200NL: OP vs. Quick Donk-PSB
I guess I should then ask...do you find the donk-bet to be a sign of top-pair-weakness (since I'm guessing this isn't your normal line when you get c/r on this board)?

I really doubt he would do this with a monster. He usually has a decent hand here though, so I agree raise, call shove is the best line here.

[/ QUOTE ] meh, I would typically call a c/r and stack off on a lot of turns. I'm not getting away from this except on the worst of turns vs. a c/r. |

Raise, call shove. [/ QUOTE ] So, if villain was a good TAG, then we are folding? b/3b is big draw or set/2p and very rarely air. Are we saying that we aren't scared of this b/3b line from THIS villain? Or because we have a strong hand with outs to improve. I raise/call shove all the time on boards like this, and i don't know the last time i was good. |
