Re: 25NL Overpair vs aggro opponent
I would raise more PF to start off with. Make them call $1.5 or so more to see the flop. Villian could have any two here so it's hard to put him on something b/c he got in for so cheap. You have to punish these stations especially OOP which is why you want to raise more. I prob just say F it and 3 bet the flop and just go with it if he comes over the top.

Re: 25NL Overpair vs aggro opponent
...and now he's felt your weakness with uber small bet on the flop and raises you... the blank turn comes. You bet 7$, he pushes, you fold. And that's all because that stupid flop bet.

Re: 25NL Overpair vs aggro opponent
With a postflop aggression factor of 7 (thatīs average of all three streets, right?) this might be a draw.

Re: 25NL Overpair vs aggro opponent
Your bet on the flop is way too small. Aggro villain will raise this with atc all day long. 3bet the flop!
As played, you may call the flop raise to check-raise the turn, but I think bet-fold is pretty gross. |

Re: 25NL Overpair vs aggro opponent
I agree with raising more preflop. I've recently upped the number of tables I play and every once in a while I miss that someone posted and raise a BB short.
With the 8=9 on the board, I'm iffy about whether to classify this flop as dry or not, but I do tend to bet smaller on dry flops (whether I've hit or miss). Betting this small is criminal, though. (Probably somewhere around 3 if I raise this to $1.50 preflop). As played on the flop, say we 3bet to 10. What's the plan if villain shoves? Calls? Maybe this is weak, but I'm running 12/8/5 at the table, and the limp/call preflop followed by the raise could easily be a set. BTW, osh were you at the table? |

Re: 25NL Overpair vs aggro opponent
That's a tricky turn spot. I think you could have avoided it by playing the flop a little differently. Anytime your flop bet is raised you are going to be in this spot if you call the raise.
