A set OOP on a possible flush draw flop against a raise
This hand seems simple but I'am always finding it tough trying to protect my hand and, from the other hand, trying to get the most of it.
Villain is 19/15/2.5, no special reads, seems to be a party regular. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $10 BB (5 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com Hero ($1080.50) BB ($6871.55) UTG ($936) MP ($0) Button ($1045) Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises to $35, BB calls $25. Flop: ($70) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $56, BB raises to $175, Hero ?? The most simple decision I see here is going all-in, but it will force villain to avoid a mistake by folding his possible flush draw and may be a pair of aces. If I just call the situation becomes much more complicated. If the third heart wont hit on turn I should bet and bet at least 2/3 of the pot and I have no guarantee he will call this bet with flush draw. If the heart hit on the turn and I bet, he call, the river becomes really tough, if I check he bets, I call - the same situation on the river. So, what lines do you find optimal here? |

Re: A set OOP on a possible flush draw flop against a raise
Ok you 3bet to 425$. The pot is 725$ and he calls for 250$ more.
On the turn the third [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hits. The pot is 1000$, you have 500$ left. Will you fold if he bets more than 2/3 of the pot? |

Re: A set OOP on a possible flush draw flop against a raise
Here I showed the described situation, if we raise to 425$ on flop.

Turn: ($920) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, BB bets $620 (all-in for me), Hero?? At this point I have 1 : 2.5 on a call. Remember, the outs against hitting a full house on the river are about 1 : 4.1, so I fold , cause I think even if we see a flush here even in about 80% of time (and we will see it more often, cause I dont see many hands we beat (against a solid player) JUST CALLING this flop and allin on this turn), the call wont be profitable. I fold and you say: "You are crazy dude!" I want to see your arguments. |
