microbob - no big deal at all. I missed the kidding part, my bad.
a lot of what 2+2 brings to the table for an author is relationships with bookstores nationwide so it would be silly for me to work with them and then not leverage those relationships! they got my book into thousands of stores without a problem. in addition to the advice/editing/reputation they bring to the game. |

Do I have to pay a thousand dollars an hour to read this book?

MicroBob--
This is a company that still has Lynne Loomis--and not Ed Miller, Dan Harrington, or Stox--listed prominently on its website's front page. So, as a general rule, thinking that website prominence and 2+2 internal respect are correlated is probably not a good idea. (Of course I might just be saying this because I think that Stox's book is the single best thing 2+2 has ever published. Theory of Poker might still be better, especially relative to its time, but WTHG is at least close.) --Nate |

[/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Lynne*-- No disrespect meant. It's just that judging from 2+2's other advertising focuses, and promotions, and from the Amazon best-seller lists, etc., they (and the general public) consider Harrington et al. to be heavier hitters, name-recognition-wise. I'm not at all familiar with your work--I might have read a couple pages of Fundamentals of Craps** once, but that's it--and certainly have no negative opinions of it. I hope I haven't committed too much of a faux pas here. I just meant to point out that 2+2's website seems discordant with its other promotional vectors. All my best, --Nate *If you're in fact Lynne Loomis **or possibly some other Fundamentals book |
