Maximizing value on the turn and river (0.5/1)
I've been trying to actually use good BR management since busting my account a month or two ago, so I've been playing a little smaller lately. Anyway, what's your turn and river plan here? Villain is a 50/8/1.1.

Re: Maximizing value on the turn and river (0.5/1)
Bet $20 here and then bet the river hard if it misses all draws.
If a 789345 or club hit I value bet and hope he hit an inside gutter or BDF. |

It shouldn`t be hard to put this guy on a hand in this hand.
The question is what do you think he puts you on. So, what are your stats and image? Is he a thinking player? |

Re: Maximizing value on the turn and river (0.5/1)
it's close but i'd probably check and hope to get one more street of value out of whatever he has or might hit. i don't think you get 2 streets of value out of 66 or 22 often enough to bet -- unless you think he's capable of continuing to call with a draw or an overpair. against a more aggressive player i might bet and hope he tries to do something fancy.

Bet the river hard if it HITS draws, not if it doesn't. You have to assume he's drawing here and hitting a draw gives him a good hand, which you get paid off. Bet $15 on the turn and induce him to call. |

Re: Maximizing value on the turn and river (0.5/1)
Did you all notice that:
1) villain led into a 4-way flop here 2) villain has an aggression factor of 1.1 3) the flop was T62 rainbow I think this is very rarely going to be a draw. I think with no tens out and only 2 twos out, we're going to be up against 66 probably over half the time. I don't think it's even worth worrying about the draws. He's not going to be drawing very often and when he is, he's usually going to fold. In the actual hand, I bet 1/2 pot on the turn and 1/2 pot on the river, not wanting him to fold, think I had T6 or T2. In retrospect though, I was thinking maybe I should have taken a stronger line given what donkish stats he has. Does he fold a boat if I pot both streets? What if I pot the turn and bet 1/2 pot on the river? Or maybe 1/2 pot the turn and pot the river. I think 1/2 potting both streets would be best against maybe a 28/13, but I'm not sure where the balance is against a looser player. I'm thinking pot, 1/2 pot might have been the best play, but I'm really not sure. |

Re: Maximizing value on the turn and river (0.5/1)
Ever heard of 3/4? hehe
The only logical hand for him to have after that flop call is 66 I agree. If he isn`t a total retard or sleeping he might be a lil bit worried about T2 because you play a random hand here (unraised pot from BB) but not worried enough to fold. Anyway, I vote 3/4, 3/4 for no other reason then to be different. |
