I was villian here and think it's generally a bet/fold. Hard to fold getting good odds without any kind of reliable read (other than stack sizes/bet sizing over a few hands etc) but most players will hardly ever push the river the way the hand went down and flip over just trip aces.

I don't like the flop play. T hi flush draw on paired A board three-way can only lead to trouble.

As played lead river for $225.

No, I think my flop play is perfect. Button was a fish that probably would bet 1/2 pot or less if he had trip aces, and UTG's checking range includes any pocket pair. My fold equity is so high that I'm convinced that the check/raise was +EV by a good margin.

No reads on villain.

Well, just so you know, a CR there with those stack sizes is definitely NOT the optimal play when you don't have any reads. Also, because of that read that UTG underbets when he has strong but vulnerable hands, you should be making this play with ATC when facing a bet of that size.

Even without any reads it's pretty reasonable to conclude that UTG will not bet a pocketpair into two other people on this board, no?

Edit: I guess you got it mixed up. Read through my posts again.

It's reasonable to conclude that UTG's check means nothing without a read on him.

Heh. My point was that his checking range is very wide and includes both trips, houses, and most statistically likely, pocket pairs. It's hard to reasonably dispute this.

Your flop play is far from perfect. You are accomplishing nothing except getting yourself blown off the hand by a big Ace, and as stated we can't assume anything about the unknown player in this spot.
