Can the defense still return a 2-point try the other way for 2 points in college? Or did I just dream that?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. Some FCS team won a game on a returned 2pt conversion recently.

And really I don't even know exactly what the new NFL goal line rule is, but I know last year it was different from the college rule.

[/ QUOTE ]

The old rule said that the goal line "extended around the world". So if you dived at the pylon and the ball crossed the goalline outside of the pylon (ie out of bounds) it was still a TD.

Under the new rule, the ball must cross the goalline inside or directly over the pylon.

The funny thing is that apparently no one in the NFL knew this, and players always tried to sneak the ball inside the pylon even before the rule was changed.

Probably because the old rule didn't make a lick of logical sense.

I could be wrong here, but isn't there a difference in lineman down the field? In college, you can have lineman downfield on a pass provided the reception is behind the line of scrimmage. In the pros, its a penalty to have lineman downfield on any pass play, regardless of where the pass is thrown.

It used to college players could have their shirts untucked. Not sure if it still is.

In the NFL you have to play one of your home games in a foreign country every 16 years. (Pending review in 2011).

In college you don't.
