Why did you quit your stocks trading job?

[/ QUOTE ]

Basically 3 reasons.

1. We didnt want to live in new york for the next 20 years and have our kids go through school there. I'm a west coast guy and still have family here in california. Moving and keeping my job wasn't an option and with our oldest approaching kindergarten the timing was right.

2. I was a soft #2 on our trading desk and the #1 was young and likely to be around for a long time. Sort of a glass cieling for me in terms of advancement, though you never know. It would have been a well compensated, if somewhat boring next 10 years most likely

3. My first 10 years of work, combined with a few strong years of poker and the possiblity of future poker income made it financially viable to keep our current lifestyle in california without me having to look for a "structured" job.

I'll probably lock this thread tomorrow as thebyrce is now doing a well and that should prove to be very interesting. I may choose to re-open at a later date, but for now your last chance to ask question will be sunday or monday.
