15'th hand or so, no reads.
First impression: BTN: fish obv, SB: TAG, could be solid or a TAGfish.

BTN ($75)
SB ($206)
Hero BB ($186)
UTG ($236)

hero delt K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
PF: UTG limps, BTN limps, SB raises to $8, Hero raises to $24, UTG folds, BTN calls, SB calls.

Flop ($74, 3-players.) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
SB checks, Hero ???

Now my standard line is betting $50 or so without thinking. But I was thinking about playing it more creative and just check. If I bet and BTN calls (he had $52 left), SB could fold 99-JJ maybe even QQ. But if I just check, BTN could eather VB w/ wors hand or make a bluff and SB would probably call with some of the hands that he would otherwise fold. Altho I am not thinking about folding here unless turn or river will bring an ace.

So, do we bet or just check?

stack off...checking is only okay if BTN is super aggro.

I like your thinking. however, it's already 3b. If you see a cbet coming from the btn, then go for the c/r. However, so often they have AK/AQ or a small PP that missed and will check behind. That is why betting out is optimal.

I think checking here is fine. Buttons short and has a prefect stack size to tie SB to the pot should he decide to call.

Did you mean "I don't think he's worried about being behind."?
If so, it's true. I want to get it in. The problem is that I want to get from SB as much as posible if he has a good but worse hand.

Ya. They'll just put you on AK and forgot about you when you check. And button will fire with any piece and SB will give action with like as low as 66/55, maybe even AK since you're probably going out and button bets smallish.

yeah i know you do don't think you're behind, checking might be more +EV though and c/r-ing.
