Default NL20 - Flopping monsters, should I slow down sometimes?

Im just starting to realize how bad I am at this game.

Both villains are basically unknowns, my image is c-bet almost always when I am the preflop raiser

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ( $1.7 )
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1.00</font>, <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>,

Final Pot: $2.62

Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ( $2.7 )
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1.80</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>,

Final Pot: $4.37

Slowing down felt wrong in both hands, but Im wondering if I'm missing some value by basically never slowplaying.

DONīT slowplay when they are even expecting you w/ betting any flop, connected or not.

No, you are not.
For one, people might draw out for free.
Then, you want BIG pots with sets. You donīt get big pots by waiting for big bets made by someone who would not have called you.

Just one big pot sometimes is a lot better than the little money you can get by getting tricky.

In hand 1 you might want to slow, just for variety. It's a rainbow flop, so you are not worried about draws, other than 89s/QJs. You have top set on an extremely dry board so getting a free card can only improve villain to a point where he might bet again. (Or he might think you have QQ/JJ and are scared of the king.)

In hand 2, don't even consider slowplaying. T9/J9/JTs are all possibilities here. If flop is checked through and a third spade falls, you're going to get either no action at all, or alternatively, far more action than you wished for. For sets, the 2+2 rule of thumb applies: play them fast and rely on your cbetter image to net you bad calls or even worse steal attempts.

Both above posters made good points. Do you almost 100% c-bet in position? If you do you have to bet. If not, then hand 1 is a hand that you can check and let them try to catch a piece of the board. Flop 2 is too dangerous though to let a free card come off.

Yeah, I cbet almost always when i'm in position and i'm the preflop raiser. Not betting basically turns my hand face up in hand 1... but I prolly should have done it anyway, because quite a few micro players are level 0 thinkers and often dont care about your image anyway.

In both cases you are the pfr, so just bet em. If you get called, you can checkraise the turn to pick up extra bets sometimes. Your only stacking somebody when they pick up a good or great second best hand. They may be slowplaying you!
