This is fine, I mean when you check behind the turn to induce the river bluff you kinda have to call it. If he hit running queens with his flush draw or whatever then oh well.

I don't like checking the turn. He could be on a FD, a wheel draw, or backdoored into a OESD, so that's 9 + 6 + 6 = 21 cards that tend to paralyze you on the river, 21/46 = 46% of the time your decisions become more difficult and only 2/46 = 4% will your decisions become easier.
If you bet and he c/r you after calling your raise on the flop, I think it's tough to make the call, and it will be just as tough a decision on a non-scare-card river, so checking is pure "Hey, here's a free card, let's postpone this until the river", where it's often tougher. |
