200 NL, I turn a set with 99 on a dangerous board.
Villain was 24/12 over 110 hands.
Poker Stars, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 9 Players LegoPoker Hand History Converter UTG+2: $221.30 MP1: $114.20 Hero (MP2): $241.15 CO: $139.80 BTN: $152 SB: $216.35 BB: $200 UTG: $98.40 UTG+1: $372.65 Pre-Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (MP2) UTG calls $2, 3 folds, Hero raises to $10, CO folds, BTN calls $10, 3 folds Flop: ($25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $19, BTN calls $19 Turn: ($63) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN checks I can either bet/call, check/call, or check/raise. If I bet I certainly can't fold because he doesn't have a full stack, so I'd be getting pretty good odds, and I can still draw out if behind. I wasn't totally sure if I wanted to call or raise if he bet. I'm thinking raise because this is a good board for him to bluff or semi-bluff after I check. River: ($63) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $40 I'm definitely betting for value now, and calling a shove because I don't think he'd play a better hand that slowly. If he shoves here he's probably bluffing a large % of the time. Thoughts? |

this seems fine to me. not sure if c/c is better or worse. i guess it depends on villain, but your line seems fine.

Re: 200 NL, I turn a set with 99 on a dangerous board.
I prefer betting the turn because there are wayyyy too many drawy type hands he could have (and he bought in with a shorter stack so hes probably bad and will call incorrectly if you make a large turnbet).
If he raises its a [censored] spot, but not as unfavorable as giving him a free card imo. As played bet the river for value and super snap call a shove. |

You're betting the river for value? What worse hand is calling? How could his range possibly be comprised of hands that we beat that will call? AcTd?

I think check call is a better river line. He cant call you with pretty much anything but a bluff catcher....

One wonders how everyday on this site live play gets ripped as being horrendous compared to online, but people are beating you into the pot here with two pair. Seems like a rather bizarre line for him to take with two pair, no? One pair is calling here, really? Which one pair hands take his line?

[ QUOTE ] He cant call you with pretty much anything but a bluff catcher.... [/ QUOTE ] Err... yeah, but I'm crushing any bluff catcher. Plus I'm a crazy LAG and never have anything etc... |

The point was he's not calling the river with any hand you beat. He would bet more hands that you beat.
