It's very possible that Sunrise Children is a shady charity. I haven't really looked into them except a short attempt to look around their awful website. But just because they don't have a good web designer doesn't mean they don't do something good with the money.

Does anyone know ways to get independent evaluations of charities?

Me too. Totally unrelated to the AP thing, I've heard shady things about a large number of Nevada charities. I'd stay away from all of them entirely tbh.

Watching it now.

EDIT: After watching, he represented what I've told him pretty well. I don't think I ever used the word "unequivocal" but I did tell him that I was not able to prove a single instance of his cheating. Obviously I was told a number of stories about possible cheating on his part, including the one that everyone knows about. None of them really proved anything to me and I've never seen any HHs (even outside of the unavailable ones from Feb 06) of Mark's play/supposed cheating.

At this point, to the best of my knowledge, I don't think Mark cheated.

EDIT #2: LOL @ the picture of me and Mark said my last name wrong. Oh well.

There are Sunrise hospitals in Vegas including Sunrise Children's Hospital.
If this charity is associated with them I would tend to think they are legit.

I have no opinion on which is the actual case.

edit: some things including mailing addresses tend to lean towards the foundation working with the hospital. It's a ghostly website though with not much going on.

how exactly did he cheat you, as opposed to the firm ap cheating you? If your Chevy blows up you can't sue their vice president. And if you were cheated out of money, and AP has repaid you - what damages do you have?

You are talking civil. I am talking criminal. I dont want a penny from them. I have no intention of suing anyone.

Some insider was clicking the mouse in Florida, and stealing millions from other Americans. Just because they got caught red handed and are attempting to repay their victims ABSOLUTELY does not mean a serious crime was committed. Exactly if and what crimes were committed will be up to the D.A.

AFAIK, there is a fair amount of available information on US charities. I don't have time to research it right now, but I'm pretty confident some people out there will be able to confirm the info re: their donation.
