Default An important day in Michigan for Ron Paul

Today and this weekend for that matter is the 2007 National Leadership Conference of the American Arab Institute in Dearborn Michigan. Ron is the only republican candidate for president that is showing up. Michigan has a huge middle eastern population these are extremely important votes for Ron to get if he wants a chance in Michigan.

Among the participants in the conference are four presidential candidates: Republican U.S. Rep. Ron Paul and Democrats Mike Gravel, the former senator from Alaska, U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson. David Bonior, the former congressman from Michigan who is the campaign manager for John Edwards, will appear on behalf of the former senator, and Anthony Lake, a former national security adviser to President Bill Clinton, will appear for Senator Barack Obama, D-Illinois.

[ QUOTE ]
"As low as Bush's numbers are, recent polls show that people don't even trust Congress," Siblani said. "We are not the only people who are not being engaged. There is a lack of trust between the American people and those who are running for office."

Despite concerns about the current state of affairs, which many Arab-Americans attribute to the Bush Administration, some remain likely to consider Republican candidates for the presidency.
