[/ QUOTE ] yea, ur kinda stuck in this spot. one thing to note though... if you're gonna cbet close to full pot on this dry of a board then it doesnt make any sense to consider folding. leading for close to pot makes it obvious to villain that you're committed and lets him fold his underpairs easily/shove on you w/ AA/KK knowing that you can't fold since youve put in too much. I'd have bet like 2/3 pot to induce calls from lower pps/to maybe induce a bluff. |

Re: nl 100, AQo TPTK in 3bet pot.
I was in the exact same situation (in the sb) and I had a late position caller, except he flat-called my flop bet.
How much should we bet in these 3bet pots? |

[/ QUOTE ] it varies a lot depending on villain/board texture. against a calling station who is going to showdown like 30% of the time, u wanna try and build a pot quickly and get him committed for a stack. if the board comes Q 9 8 w/ a flush draw, obviously u need to bet more to protect your hand from draws. in OPs post on a Q73 rainbow board, we're not really worried about draws so we wanna get value from his weaker hands w/out tipping the strength of our own and blowing him off everything. if we bet 2/3 pot or maybe a bit less, we can get calls from 88-JJ where a full pot bet would probably scare him away. |

Re: nl 100, AQo TPTK in 3bet pot.
2/3 pot is about mandatory in a 3bet pot whether we hit or not. as stated i agree that potting this flop is a hair much.

There are a lot of posts regarding opening up your preflop 3-bet range, esp. from the blinds. IMHO 3-betting unknown shorties OOP with AQo is a bad idea,. Actually 3-betting AQo anytime is a bad idea unless you are doing this by exception.

not a fan of preflop, postflop looks standard.
