Why not? If you're playing for long term results you'll have the best hand often enough and by checking you run the risk of getting blown off the best hand by the loose guy in MP.

Sounds a lot like the live games i play in... tbh i don't mind a shove pre-flop... lagtards in these low limit live games will call with JJ/TT/AK maybe even AQ or worse, which more than makes up for the times we run into AA/KK
