River bluff raise - NL $100 6m

So I have a bad habit of making too many moves when I'm taking shots. Villian is 35/25, laggy player but seems to be a thinking player. Looking back at this hand I should have raised the flop. I don't think I have much sd value and I think I can get him to fold alot of hands in his range. Spew or a good move?

raising/calling/folding the flop are all fine with certain frequencies. It really depends on our villain's range here. Good players are going to 3bet you a lot after they donk on a board like this unless they are stone bluffing.

Without a good idea of what his range is here, I prob. just peel one like you did because frankly our hand is much too strong to be folding in position and raising will often get us pushed off the best hand by this guy.

The river raise is pretty laughable though. You're representing maybe one hand T9. I'm pretty sure you got looked up here by JT or a flush but it doesn't really matter what he had. Once the diamond peels on the turn I'm pretty much done with the hand.

I still call river. Villain's line is super weak and flop and river both look like blocking bets with an underpair or a weaker eight.
